Jazz Up Your Vegetables

Spice it!

  • Add salsa to corn, black beans, or even a baked potato.
  • Add garlic and/or a little bit of shredded cheese to mashed potatoes.

Slice it!

  • Add slightly browned, chopped onions to cooked peas, corn, or green beans
  • Jazz up other dishes by adding sliced veetables. Examples: scrambled eggs, stews, or a meatloaf.

Mix it!

  • Mix green beans, Italian dressing, and sliced almonds.
  • Stirfry chicken of beef with broccoli.
  • Cooked stewed tomatoes and zucchini together.

Zap it!

  • Microwave broccoli and sprinkle on Parmesan cheese.
  • Microwave a sweet potato with ground cloves or cinnamon on top.
  • Heat frozen mixed vegetables for a last-minute side dish.
