Water

Being well hydrated is important for almost every function in your body. After all, your body is about 75% water. When you are even slightly dehydrated your ability to even do basic of daily tasks are diminished.

Importance of water:

  • Maintains your bodies ability to deliver oxygen and nutrients.
  • Carries away waste created by exercise and daily activity.
  • Keeps your body cool by the evaporation of sweat.
  • Helps maintain proper blood pressure.
  • Helps you to concentrate.
  • Helps with coordination.

How to tell if your hydrated:

  • Urine is clear to pale yellow.
  • You urinate at least 4 times per day.

Tips to increase water intake:

  • Carry a water bottle at all times.
  • Everytime you walk by a water fountain, stop and take a drink.
  • Eat more fruits and vegetables.
  • Drink a glass of water at every meal.
  • Leave a glass of water next to your bed while you sleep.
