Anyone can adapt good, solid health information to his or her own life. With some simple changes, you'll feel better... and feel better about your own health.

Moderation

One of the greatest pleasures in life is the enjoyment of food. Because of this you should never restrict eating a food you enjoy because it's "bad for you." No food is bad for you. The over eating of a food is what makes a food bad for you. In any healthy lifestyle eating the foods you enjoy is not only okay but can actually be good for you. As long as you eat them in moderation.

Here are some tips for moderating the foods you enjoy:

  • Only eat one serving
    • Take one serving of the food from its container or bag and then put the container or bag away and only eat that one serving you took out.
  • Eat "healthiest" food to "least" healthy food.
    • This allows you to be full on other foods so that by the time you get to the "less" healthy food it is easier to moderate.
  • Use the smallest plates, bowls, or cups available.
