Fruits

Fruits are a delicious and nutritious way to get many of the nutrients needed for good health. Fruits are a great source of vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. Fruits can be purchased:

  • Fresh
  • Frozen
  • Canned
  • Dried Juiced

How much to get per day:

  • Try to eat 1 ½ to 2 cups of fruits per day
  • 1 cup of fruit or 100% fruit juice, or ½ cup of dried fruit can be considered as 1 cup from the fruit group.
  • 1 medium piece of fruit is about the size of a baseball.
  • Try to eat 5 to 9 servings per day
